The SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC EUROPEAN HACKATHON is an innovation international competition organized by SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC and powered by NUWE. This hackathon will take place on Saturday November 18th and will be focused on the European territory.
π Dates: Hackathon virtual day: Saturday November 18th at 9:00 am to 18:15 pm (CET). (Open Innovation Business challenges will be opened from Monday November 13th to work and develop the challenge till Hackathon Gather virtual day.)
π Format: On-line (Gather virtual world).

π§π½βπ» Profile and level: junior to senior.
π€ Participation: Teams participants located in Europe. From 1 to 3 people. While the Hackathon is open to participants worldwide, it predominantly targets the European territory.
π Prizes: Prizes for the 3 top team winners of each category.
πΌ Jobs: Best performing participants will be approached by Schneider Electric team to cover vacancies in Digital, Energy and/or Services Department.

The Schneider Electric European Hackathon is an innovation competition for students & young professionals with the main objective of empowering them to showcase their talent, act for sustainability and win prizes & have a paid internship opportunity at Schneider Electric. This 2nd edition of the competition is open to all the sustainable warriors out there with an engineering, IT or Data background who want to test their skills while they help to build a more digital, efficient & greener future.
This hackathon will prioritize European residents, as the potential job positions are meant to provide support to the European part of Schneider Electric.
The main goal of this Hackathon is for the participants to show their skills by enrolling in one of the 3 available challenges, (Data-Science and Services & Energy Open Innovation Business challenges), interacting and networking with other participants, and having the chance to join the Schneider Electric team.
We want to inspire and encourage everyone to participate and provide groundbreaking solutions to environmental concerns while integrating technology, sustainability, and economic viability. Together we can make a positive difference in this journey of innovation and environmental impact.
3 challenges will be raised in this competition:
π CHALLENGE 1: Data Science challenge: A Data Science challenge will be posed related to sustainability- "EcoForecast: Revolutionizing Green Energy Surplus Prediction in Europe"- With increasing digitalisation and the ever-growing reliance on data servers, the significance of sustainable computing is on the rise.
π‘ CHALLENGE 2: Open Innovation Business - Services Department: "Eco-Tech Revolution: Pioneering Solutions for Sustainable Urban Transformation" - Find a transformative solution with a service for Mid-Sized Industrial City using the least possible amount of energy resources in buildings.
π‘ CHALLENGE 3: Open Innovation Business - Energy Management: "AI fighting Climate Change"- Harness the power of artificial intelligence to combat one of the most pressing global issues of our time: climate change.
Open Innovation Business challenges will be opened from Monday November 13th to start working with your team and develop the challenge during the week till Hackathon Gather virtual day. For this modality, Open Innovation challenges, you will have time to upload and deliver your solution till Monday November 27th at 10:00 CET.
Please kindly take note that you may only select one challenge.
Best performing participants will be approached by Schneider Electric team to cover European vacancies.
For those who have completed already their studies, Schneider Electric is delighted to facilitate their connection with available job opportunities, whether they are currently open at the time of the event or anticipated in the near future.
Prizes will be delivered for the three top team winners in each category. SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC will manage prizes with the winners. The prizes may under no circumstances be given to a person other than the winners, nor may they be substituted for their cash value.
Finally, the prizes are valued in 1650β¬ each category for the top 3 team winners to be distributed by the team members+ paid internship opportunity (pending confirm). You can see the distribution below:

Teams: 1 to 3 people for each category. You can create or join a team, once you register the competition. While the Hackathon is open to participants worldwide, it predominantly targets the European territory.
Participation in more than one challenge, either as a team or individually, is not allowed.
You can create your team so that more participants can join you or you can join an existing team. You can create the team by going to the "Challenges" tab. When you create a team for Open Innovation challenges, in the team creation form, you are asked for the "Stack" you will use. You can select any "Stack". These technologies are not binding as they are not essential for the execution of this category challenge.

All participants must be registered in the event and challenge and upload the solution.
For Data Science challenge a link will be required to the GitHub repository. You will have time to deliver and upload your solution Tuesday November 21th at 10 CET.
For Open Innovation challenges: In each challenge you will have detailed information about the evaluation and deliverables. To submit and send the solution, the creator of the team will have to provide an open access link to a Google Drive or a similar platform, containing a presentation document (PowerPoint or similar), describing your unique solution. A well-structured document will enhance your chances of conveying your solution's value to the judges and audience. You will have time to deliver and upload your solution Monday November 27th at 10 am.
